Welcome to another episode of Idaho or Bust. Today I am going to show you around my backyard! All of the water is amazing! We are super close to the Boise River where you can fish, boat, and float. You have so many options for activities when you live on the water.
We moved from California so one of our nonnegotiables was having waterfront property and a sandy shoreline. We love having this sandy beach to enjoy. It is incredible for the Fourth of July. Here in Idaho, there is over 93,000 miles of shoreline. There is water everywhere!
One of my favorite places in my neighborhood is the walking path. You can relax, ride your bike, walk your dogs, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the river. Right now as the temperature rises, the snow begins to melt and the river over flows. When this happens, wildlife loves to come out and enjoy the river too! As you walk along the path, you will see geese, ducks, turkeys, and occasionally even elk.
While the snow melt can reach your backyard, it is actually pretty beautiful. All types of grasses and greenery pop up and small streams are created throughout my neighborhood.
Another positive side effect from the snow melt is the impact it can have on your water bill. In the hottest month of the year, our water bill for a family of four was only $105. That is a third of what it used to be in California! That low water bill includes water usage for two teenage girls who think a thirty-minute shower is normal. The cost of living is pretty amazing here in Idaho.
I can’t get enough of life here in Idaho. I have streams flowing through my front yard and neighborhood, incredibly low bills, and a wonderful quality of life. If you are interested in learning more about Boise, contact me today!
